Budget hotel operator Travelodge has opened in Wadebridge, Cornwall.
The new 55-bed hotel on West Hill represents a £2.2 million investment in the town. Travelodge also estimates Wadebridge will benefit by nearly £700,000 a year from its customers spending, on average, £36 a day in restaurants, pubs and shops.
The new hotel has created ten jobs with all of the new employees being recruited via Travelodge’s partnership with the Job Centre Plus, helping the local long-term unemployed get back into work.
The new hotel will offer rooms from £19 and is part of a joint development with a Marston’s pub, The Falcon, set to open later this month.
It is anticipated that Wadebridge Travelodge will benefit from both business and leisure travellers, in particular, visitors to the Royal Cornwall Showground.
Cornwall is a key target region for new Travelodge hotels due to its high demand for budget accommodation and strong tourism economy.
