Wadebridge Folk Festival returns to Wadebridge this Summer Bank Holiday from 26th to 29th August 2011.

A family event which draws musicians and fans alike from all over the UK to experience our unique Cornish and Celtic musical heritage and dance culture.

Cornwall benefits from some of the best weather in the UK and our Folk Festival differs from all others in that we have the added advantage of all our venues being  undercover, indoors and in the warm! So if it's raining outside - there's no problem as you can lay back, listen to great folk music whilst sampling local Cornish food and drink a wide choice of Cornish real ales and ciders!

2011 - sees the welcome return of Martin Simpson who is widely regarded as one of the world's finest acoustic guitarists, his interpretations of traditional songs are masterpieces of storytelling and his performances are intense, spellbinding and deeply moving. Martin has been nominated 23 times for the Radio 2 Folk Awards and has won the accolade of " Musician of the Year" 9 times now.

Appearing alongside Martin are many other great acts:

Wizz Jones - needs no introduction to blues fans as Wizz has been an influence on just about every blues player in Great Britain, including Eric Clapton. Still knocking his blues out with ferocious intensity.

Amadou Diagne -from Senegal will prove to be one of the great new sensations of this year's Festival. A singer. songwriter. djembe drum player - look-out for his djembe drumming workshops! Amadou has been recording with Peter Gabriel and can number Lady Gaga as being one of his friends.

So many other great acts are also lined up which includes: Barron Brady, Chris Ricketts and Mark Wiltshire, Pete Berryman's Jazz Trio, Corncrow, Leski, Pete and Mannie McClelland, Pete Grassby, Phil Hardy, Tros An Trey, Roger Bryant, Ben and Heather Lang, Viv Legg, Malcolm Pinch, Saffron Maids, Shipwrecks, Thorn and Roses, Trigg Morris, Fandango, Spot the Dog Bluegrass, Mo Keast, Pensan Morris, Plymouth Morris and many more…

There is a also a Daily Childrens Festival.
