Cornwall Design Season kicks off in Wadebridge today, just a little way along the camel trail. It's the start of 9 weeks of Cornish creativity and ingenuity featuring a multi-site exhibition at 15 locations across Cornwall, a design summit for businesses at Eden and numerous events by University College Falmouth, Tate St Ives, Falmouth Art Gallery and many others.

It is an exploration into how great design and creative solutions can bring about lasting benefits for the people of Cornwall.
It’s a non-profit experimental project involving hundreds of people and a great deal of goodwill.
The idea behind the season is a show of surprising “design stories”. These stories will be exhibited in iconic shipping containers throughout Cornwall. One of which is now positioned on the Camel Trail in Wadebridge.
They’ve all been nominated by people from the world of design, culture and academia, and then interpreted as an installation by local designers and artists. Each story has changed something, be it a mind, a moment, a town, or maybe even the world.
The container at Wadebridge tells two stories one of the Cornish Separatists Movement of 1497 and the other of the Cornish Cross, interpreted by artist Lois Wild.
The exhibition, 5 minutes along the camel trail from Bridge Bike Hire, can be viewed from today 19th February to the 20th March.
The artist Lois Wild said, “It’s an interactive installation that everyone can be involved in. It’s open from 10am to 4pm every day. During the coming weeks the exterior of the container will also be painted with a vivid design”
There is a gallery here: Cornwall Design Season at Wadebridge Photo Gallery feel free to upload your pictures of the art installation as it develops.

I love the whole idea of this, going to have to tray and visit as many containers as possible while they're around.
