Anti social behaviour is the highest reported crime in Wadebridge

Anti social behaviour is the highest recorded crime in Wadebridge according to a new police website.

Compared to the city of Truro and other medium sized towns in Cornwall Wadebridge doesn't appear to suffer with high levels of crime.

The total number of reported crimes in Wadebridge last December stands at 24, compared to Truro’s 166 for the same period.

On the new website crime is broken down into six different categories; burglary, anti-social behaviour, robbery, vehicle, violent, other.  Of the 24 crimes reported, 11 were anti-social behaviour.  

The new police website maps out crime throughout Wadebridge on a street by street basis, but following a high profile launch earlier this week it subsequently became overwhelmed and unusable for much of the day due to crashed servers.

I spoke to local resident Dan Goodwin who said, “If you're going to do a lot of PR to launch a new website make sure you have scaling infrastructure in place, even if only temporarily, and test it with more than the anticipated number of users. All that said, it's very difficult to get this sort of thing right.”
