A new Friends' Group is being spearheaded by Radio Cornwall presenter James Churchfield to encourage people to be involved in the future management on the 18-mile trail that attracts more than 500,000 users each year.
Mr Churchfield will be chairing an open meeting this Friday, March 4, at Wadebridge Town Hall at 6.30pm.
The meeting was initiated by the Camel Trail Partnership which guides the work of Cornwall Council in managing the route.
The meeting will include an illustrated talk by local naturalist and photographer Adrian Langdon. Free refreshments will be provided by local business Treats on Trikes and a number of organisations who use the Camel Valley will be present with displays of their work. The formal meeting will begin at 7pm.
The Camel Trail Partnership will also be seeking users' views on how the trail is managed, at a public meeting at Padstow Social Club at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 8.
The partnership includes Cornwall Council, representatives of the local communities through whose area the trail passes, the Forestry Commission, English Nature and the Environment Agency.
Derek Julian from Cornwall Bird Watching and Preservation Society will be giving an illustrated talk about Cornwall's birdlife.
