50 new homes in Wadebridge
If the application is successful 50 homes could be built at West Hill in Wadebridge.
The developer has said that the scheme will include a large proportion of affordable homes.
The plans for Wadebridge have been announced by Linden Homes who will be holding an exhibition next Wednesday, January 18, in the town hall from 2.30pm to 7.30pm.
The company is hoping to develop a two-hectare site (five acres) but say its wants to give residents an opportunity to view its proposals before it submits them to Cornwall Council.
Linden Homes' strategic land director (South), Richard Ayres, said: "This is an important part of the application process. We are planning to develop the site for a mixture of two, three and four-bedroom properties at a relatively low density which will fit comfortably within the local area. The feedback we get from the exhibition will help further refine our approach.
"The final layout will include a high proportion of affordable housing to help meet local needs. Vehicular access will be via a new entrance off West Hill."
Cornwall Councillor for Wadebridge, Scott Mann, said affordable housing was his "No 1 priority".
"It is important that any new development provides the right kind of housing for the people of Wadebridge," he said.
"I would ask that anyone who is interested in knowing more about this development attends the consultation and makes their feelings known."
