Sticker 4, Bude Town 2

STICKER made it three wins out of three thanks largely to the finishing skills of hat-trick hero Chris Kitson.

It looked easy enough for Sticker as Kitson pounced to tuck away a couple of close range efforts in the opening 35 minutes.

But Bude pulled one back through 17-year-old Adam Smith and Sticker realised it was not going to be all their own way when Jason Warne had a penalty saved.

Kitson restored the two-goal advantage in the second half, but once again Bude responded to reduce their arrears with a curling shot from Tommy Statton

Sticker were awarded a second penalty and, this time, Lewis Prince took the responsibility. But Bude goalkeeper Gary Dinshaw pulled off his second penalty save of the afternoon.

Sticker made sure of the win, however, when Craig Coad nodded home a cross from Andrew Butler for his side's 15th goal in three games.

Man of the Match: Chris Kitson (Sticker).

Bere Alston United 1, Saltash United 4

SALTASH overcame a problem with the non-arrival of their playing kit to open their away programme with a match-winning performance.

The player bringing the kit did not arrive and there was a 40-minute delay while Saltash arranged to borrow some shorts and socks from Gunnislake to use along with their red warm-up shirts.

Bere Alston were the first to settle and opened the scoring with an early goal from Jason Cordice.

But Saltash settled to the task and were back on level terms by the interval with a well-taken goal by Aaron West.

Steffan Kelly, signed from Tavistock, had an impressive debut for Saltash and gave them a second half lead after skipper Tony Bouch had made a couple of important clearances for the visitors.

The Ashes wrapped up victory with further goals from West and Scott Wellington and might have scored more but for some fine goalkeeping by Bere Alston's Jack Dixon.

Man of the Match: Steffan Kelly (Saltash United).

Bodmin Town 0, St Dominick 1

THE only surprise was that St Dominick had to wait until five minutes from the end before hitting their winning goal from the penalty spot.

They had numerous chances, although Bodmin went close in the early stages when Steve Williams made an outstanding save to keep the Saints on level terms.

Paul Cowling, Tom Hall and Adam McPherson all went close to breaking the deadlock as the visitors applied some first half pressure.

There was more of the same after the interval with Andy Banfield firing over from six yards while Hall and Cowling also had further scoring opportunities.

Bodmin tried to step up their game, but were unable to get the better of some sound defensive work by Saints, who made it two wins out of two in the premier division when Cowling converted a late penalty.

Man of the Match: Nick Carpenter (St Dominick).

Lanreath 1, Torpoint Athletic 4

TORPOINT had to survive some early second half pressure by Lanreath, but finished strongly for an away victory.

Dan Chapman opened the scoring for Torpoint and they eased into a 2-0 interval lead with Dave Lorimmer heading in a corner from Lewis Young.

Lanreath stuck to their task, however, and were rewarded with a goal from James Barrett, which gave the home side some encouragement.

Torpoint found they had some work to do as Lanreath searched for an equaliser and the visitors were indebted to the efforts of Ed Goodman, who had an impressive match in midfield.

Eventually, Torpoint restored their two-goal advantage when Lewis Kershaw scored on the break and Young wrapped up victory for the visitors when he cracked in a fine 20-yard effort.

Torpoint now face home matches against Bere Alston this evening and Elburton Villa, next Tuesday.

Man of the Match: Ed Goodman (Torpoint Athletic).

Morwenstow 4, Wadebridge Town 1

WADEBRIDGE were made to pay for their lack of finishing in the final third as they went down to what proved a convincing scoreline despite dominating long periods of play.

It was an excellent afternoon for Morwenstow, who finished second from bottom last season, but have won all three matches at the start of the new campaign.

They made a bright start with an early goal from Norman Foster, who added a second just before the break.

Wadebridge did everything but score in the first half but were rewarded with a second half goal from Sam Goodwin and threatened to get back into the game.

Morwenstow held on with John Tape impressive at centre half and the home side increased their lead with a penalty from Keith Cornish after Nick Purcell had been fouled.

Wadebridge continued to play well enough, but Morwenstow had the final word with a late strike by Phil Dart.

Man of the Match: John Tape (Morwenstow).

St Stephens Borough 2, Plymouth Parkway 6

ST STEPHENS Borough visit local rivals St Dominick this evening still looking for their first points of the season, but will take some encouragement from their performance against Plymouth Parkway.

Despite the scoreline, Borough showed some promise as they continue re-building their team with only two or three players remaining from last season.

New left back Lewis Head made a good impression and the experienced Andy Wright continues to dominate in central midfield.

There was no stopping Parkway, however, as they took a 2-0 interval lead through Pete Foster and Josh Parnell.

There was more of the same from Parkway in the second half as they eased to a 5-0 lead with two goals from Ross Avery and a strike by Dan Worth before Borough pulled back a couple through Wayne Skeldon and Karl Surridge.

The busy Phil Daniel had the final word with the sixth goal.

Man of the Match: Phil Daniel (Plymouth Parkway).

Tavistock 3, Launceston 3

LAUNCESTON had two players sent off in controversial circumstances at Tavistock.

Ashley Rowlands gave them an early lead, but was then dismissed, apparently for comments he made during his goal celebrations.

Tavistock hit back to equalise with a penalty from Jordan Walton following a foul on Jack Crago.

Tavistock twice took the lead in the second half, with Crago and Walton scoring. But Launceston responded to level on each occasion.

Jamie Martin made it 2-2 before a dramatic end to the game. A Tavistock defender appeared to handle on the line but Launceston were awarded a corner. Mark Goodman was sent off for disputing the decision, which was changed to a penalty, which Adam Crabb converted with the last kick of the game.

All of that was overshadowed by an injury to 16-year-old Crago, who was taken to hospital with a fractured ankle following an innocent challenge.

Man of the Match: Ian Collacott (Launceston).

Results, Tuesday, August 23: Bere Alston 10 St Stephens Borough 4, Probus 2 Sticker 5, Tavistock 3 Torpoint 3.

Wednesday, August 24: Launceston 1 Morwenstow 2, St Dominick 3 Lanreath 0, Wadebridge 2 Bude 7.
