Wadebridge Big Lunch
The annual Big Lunch, created by the Eden Project, aims to get the whole country sitting down to lunch together for one day.
The Queen has endorsed this year's Big Lunch, timed to coincide with her diamond jubilee.
For Wadebridge, this means lining Molesworth Street with tables and chairs, and sharing a fabulous feast.
"If previous years are anything to go by, we should have a few thousand people," said organiser Harriet Wild.
"It's shaping up really well and looks like it's going to be great fun; imagine a Mad Hatter's tea party with corgis instead of the shy dormouse.
"There'll be live music, entertainment, a hog roast, ice cream, a bouncy castle and activities for all, and at 3pm we'll all gather together to squeeze into a photograph."
There will also be a children's fancy dress competition with a royal theme.
Those taking part are invited to bring along a little picnic to share. There will also be food for sale and a special cake to cut.
"The previous Wadebridge Big Lunches have been some of the best days of my life," said Harriet. "I've enjoyed them so much. There aren't many days of the year we can dance in the street to local musicians in the sunshine, and chat with neighbours in a place we all know so well. It's an odd feeling – turning the ordinary into the extraordinary. There's no entry fee and absolutely everyone is invited.
"Whether you come to celebrate the jubilee or simply fancy a festival atmosphere in a familiar place, the Wadebridge Big Lunch 2012 will be a day to remember."
Check out the photo galleries of all the fun from last year here and here.
And keep an eye on the Wadebridge People website and on twitter over the bank holiday as we publish photos from this year's event.
