Carnival draws thousands of people to Wadebridge

Wadebridge Carnival's organisers were granted eleventh-hour permission to hold a prize-giving event in Jubilee Park on Saturday 30th July.

Due to a late glitch, the committee was forced to try to find alternative accommodation for its ceremony.

The carnival erected a marquee to hand out trophies after the parade and hosted a charity auction, bar and entertainment from local duo The Fandangos.

Wadebridge Town Council held an emergency committee meeting to discuss the issue and Cornwall Council and the police helped to get a temporary licence approved.

Thousands of people lined the streets of Wadebridge to enjoy the event.
