Calstock's resistance is cracked

Premier Division

FOWEY United had to rely on their reliable strike force to gain a 5-4 home win over a dogged Calstock as they went back to the top of the Premier Division.

Josh Frampton scored a brace with Luke Giles, Tony Hillman and Rory Barnicle completing their tally. Lee Hawkins scored a brace in reply on his debut with Ashley Small and an own goal completing the Calstock reply.

Overnight leaders St Newlyn East created numerous chances at home to St Mawgan, but found visiting keeper Nathan Prentice in outstanding form.

St Mawgan were reduced to ten men in the first half following retaliation from their player, but the hosts still couldn't break down the visitors defence.

St Mawgan then caught the hosts napping in the second half with Sean Lambart scoring two goals as the home team defended poorly. Liam Dent scored a late goal, but Newlyn went down 2-1 and drop to second.

Probus salvaged a point in their relegation fight when Mark Beland, with his first goal in four years, scored an 86th minute equaliser at Mevagissey.

It was all Mevagissey for the opening 28 minutes and was capped with a beautifully flighted free kick from Scott Mills.

Probus reacted in good style and got on top and deserved their equaliser from Scott Barrett. Chris Dingle looked to have given the hosts the win late in the second half, before Beland secured a 2-2 draw.

St Cleer continued their revival with a superb 3-2 win at Torpoint Athletic. Torpoint took a first half lead, but the game changed when Darren Harvey was brought on as a substitute and scored the equaliser.

Persistence from Scott Corson when he forced a mistake in the home defence and bundled the ball home gave St Cleer the lead and then after good work by Charlie Coates, Hambly crossed for Dan Ball to score the visitors' third.

Torpoint pulled a goal back but couldn't get a draw. Jason Bates and Jake Foster scored for Torpoint.

Saltash United beat title hopefuls Bodmin Saints 3-2 with Josh Fedrick scoring a brace. Lewis Fedrick was also on target for Saltash with Matt Doney and Liam Ames replying.

Gunnislake and Altarnun drew 1-1. Simon Kelly scored for Gunni with Gavin Wallis replying.

Division One

LEADERS TASTE DEFEAT AS MATT CLEANS UP:

Runaway Division One leaders St Columb Major were beaten for the first time in the league this season when fellow promotion hopefuls St Dominick left the Recreation Ground with a 2-1 win.

St Dominick were well on top in the first half, making the better of the difficult conditions. They took the lead when forcing Aaron Hawken into heading into his own net on 30 minutes.

Major also gifted the second goal two minutes after the restart when a poor defensive mistake let in Matt McClean. This did wake up the home team and they clawed themselves back in the game.

Substitute Marco Cairleglio, two minutes after his introduction, pulled a goal back and although they pressed strongly they couldn't hold on to their record.

AFC St Austell won 5-1 at Boscastle to close the gap. Boscastle started well and dominated the opening 25 minutes with Matt Jolliffe giving them a lead.

St Austell came back and forced the Boscastle keeper into an outstanding save, but from the resultant corner the keeper dropped the ball and the game was level. The visitors then scored a second quickly and added a very good third before half time.

Boscastle were determined to have a go at the start of the second half but the visitors scored right away and added a good fifth.

Luke Patton scored twice with Steve Kellow, Nick Bennetts and Jerry Pascoe adding further goals for St Austell.

Liam Jones scored a hat-trick as Pelynt beat Bere Alston United 5-4. Tony Harman and Ali Carter completed home scoring with Josh Robins (2), Sam Martin and Ross Hann replying for Bere.

Polperro won local bragging rights with a 6-2 defeat of Looe Town. Ben Jenkins and Gordon Niner scored a brace apiece with James Morris and Adam Taylor completing the home tally. Looe replied through Max Anderson and Lee Harry Powell.

Division Two

FIVE GOALS FOR ALEX:

Alex Woodcock was in outstanding form with five goals as he led Division Two title hopefuls Biscovey to a crushing 8-1 defeat of Queens Rangers.

Biscovey were five up at the break with Woodcock hitting four and Gareth Evans getting the other from the spot. Nick Isbell scored the sixth five minutes after the restart and Woodcock got his fifth in the 65th minute.

Ben Wilkinson completed the home tally in the 87th minute with Ryan Johns getting the visitors' consolation three minutes from time.

Leaders Sticker were held 2-2 at home by Gerrans/St Mawes United in an entertaining game well controlled by referee Andy Sheath.

The visitors opened the scoring when the Sticker defence through Ryan Harris. Sticker were level soon after when Mark Bennetts scored direct from a corner.

Early in the second period Gerrans were reduced to ten men when Charlie Andrew was dismissed for a second yellow card.

Gerrans then edged in front with Harris getting his second as the Sticker defence went to sleep. Back came Sticker and after a terrific strike from Bennetts was pushed onto the bar by the visiting keeper Scott Best was on hand to bundle the ball over the line.

Pensilva are new leaders after coming from a goal down at home to Lostwithiel to win 3-1. The visitors took a 20th minute lead when Alex Britten headed into his own goal.

It took until six minutes into the second half before Pensilva restored parity when Dylan Peel scrambled the ball in.

Young Ben Collins was brought on as substitute and he made a major impact scoring within a few minutes of his arrival. Collins turned creator as Jon Filbey scored the third.

Maker with Rame kept in touch with two own goals helping them defeat St Stephen 4-0. Matt Mirfin-Strike and Luke Britzman scored their other goals.

Holywell/Cubert Athletic eased any relegation concerns with an emphatic 6-2 defeat of Premier Sixes in a game where Peter Bruce and Simon Holmes scored a hat trick apiece.

Division Three

RUSSELL'S PADSTOW LIFT:

Padstow United stretched their lead at the top of Division Three with Russell McOwen scoring a brace in their 5-0 defeat of Tregony. Kyle Tippett, Sean Blows and Jake Charles were also on target.

AFC Bodmin are back up to second after defeating promotion rivals Mount Charles 2-1. Adam Brown and Dan Haggett scored the home goals with John McAvoy replying. St Minver beat Delabole United 2-0 with Chris Simmons and Joe Robinson on target.

Callington won the relegation clash with Tintagel 3-1 and move five points away from danger. Lukas Skop scored a brace with the other home goal coming off a Tintagel player. Martyn Cockcroft replied.

Division Four

STUNNING STOKE HIT 11:

Division Four leaders Stoke Climsland were in stunning form hitting St Teath 11-0 without reply with James Wing claiming five of the goals.

Goals from Grant Mace, Tom Savage, Adam Savage, Andy Wing, Rob Cleveland and Rob Bennett completed the rout.

Jason Willis scored a hat-trick and Mike Horne added a brace as Lanivet Inn won 5-2 at Charlestown Saints. The home replies came from Dave Haley and an own goal.

LC Phoenix stay second after a 5-2 win over LC Phoenix. Jake Collins scored a brace with Dave Sharpe, Harry Marsh and Matt Brooks completing the home scoring. Josh Johnson scored both visiting goals. Calstock reserves moved nearer contention with Alex Mortimore scoring a hat trick in their 4-0 win at St Mawgan reserves. Mike Waldron completed the scoring.

Division Five

ST CLEER BACK ON SONG:

St Cleer reserves came from a goal down at half time to defeat Torpoint Comrades 4-1 and recharge their Division Five title credentials. Louis Dulling gave the visitors the first half lead.

St Cleer sorted out the problems at half time and dominated the second half. James Colwill levelled before Carl Wilson scored twice to put them in charge. Matt Bryant confirmed the points near the end.

Leaders St Neot were on the rampage at RAF St Mawgan winning 9-1. James Carhart and Phil Bunney scored a hat trick apiece with Chris Arthur adding a brace. Adam King was the other St Neot scorer with Neil Moore scoring the home consolation.

Duke of Cornwall were sunk by two Richard Hughes goals as they went down 2-1 at home to St Merryn. Sean Baron scored the home goal.

Mevagissey reserves won 1-0 at Grampound reserves.

Chris Rockell scored four goals and Jason Ridgment added a brace as North Hill beat Southgate Seniors 6-3. Rob Oldacre, Dan Gregory and Gareth Smith replied
