Avalon Youth Theatre actors are all ready for their colourful production of Seussical in Wadebridge
A huge hit in America, Seussical incorporates elements from at least 15 books, as well as many of his best-loved and most familiar characters.
Avalon Youth Theatre is a volunteer-run group for local children aged 7 to 17 and has been busy rehearsing Seussical since September.
Paula Every from Avalon said, "The music's particularly difficult, but the children are rising to the challenge and will have it nailed by half- term. The biggest change for Avalon this year is the venue; as they can no longer afford to hire Wadebridge Town Hall this year's production will be at Wadebridge Comprehensive School in their hall, so a big thank-you to Tina Yardley for her support."
Performances are at 7.30pm from Wednesday to Saturday, February 15 to 18, and include a 2.30pm Saturday matineé. Tickets are available from Krazy Kards and Studio One, both on Polmorla Road, at £6.50 for adults and £4.50 for children and OAPs.
It's a shame the town council can't help support this a little better, but thankfully Tina Yardley has saved the day.
